NFL Week 9 Picks (Thursday Night Game)

Due to an unspecified individual (he knows who he is!) using my picks to gain an advantage on me in a football pool that we are in, I will no longer post my complete picks for the week on Thursday. I'll simply pick the Thursday night game and post the remainder of my picks at some    point on Sunday before the first game kicks off. Now back to the business at hand.

Last week I went, 12-1, which brought my season record to 75-45, a full 30 games over .500. I came within one game of perfection and thanks to the Atlanta Falcons I came up just short. Nonetheless the goal remains the same and my quest for perfection begins once again.

 (6-2)                                                                                                     (3-4)

Tonight's game see's Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals travel to Florida to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Bengals are coming off a dominant 49-9 drubbing of the New York Jets, while the Dolphins are reeling after losing a game to the Patriots. A game where they lead at half 17-3 and blew it thanks to some questionable playing calling on offense and a controversial batting call on Oliver Vernon while attempting to recover a Tom Brady fumble that could have saved the game for the Dolphins.

This should be an entertaining game, even though after a fast start the Dolphins are seemingly heading in the wrong direction. If the Dolphins can manage to keep running back Lamar Miller involved and continue to run the ball to set up the passing game in order to take advantage of injuries in the Bengals linebacker corps and secondary, they stand a chance to steal a much needed victory. Honestly I don't see Offensive Coordinator Mike Sherman and Head Coach Joe Philbin doing so, which leads to my pick.....

Winner: Bengals 27-17
